Kenshi

Lo-Fi Games' 2018 squad-based open-world sandbox RPG, self-published for Windows PC after roughly 12 years of development. A real-time strategy / action RPG hybrid with no linear story, set in a brutal 'Sword-Punk' post-apocalyptic world that does not scale to the player: recruit, train and command squads of characters who can be maimed, enslaved, or rise from nobody to warlord. Single-player only; over 2.3 million copies sold as of April 2024, with Kenshi 2 in development.
