Kojima Productions' open-world stealth action epic, directed by Hideo Kojima and published by Konami. Players take the role of Venom Snake in 1984, infiltrating Afghanistan and the Angola–Zaire border across a sandbox that supports both silent stealth and loud assault, alongside Mother Base management and recruitable companions (Quiet, DD, D-Horse, D-Walker). The campaign is single-player; the asynchronous Forward Operating Base (FOB) PvP mode and the Metal Gear Online 3 (MGO3) competitive multiplayer shipped separately, with legacy-gen (PS3/X360) servers shut down in 2022. Available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 3/4, and Xbox 360/One.
