Papers, Please
Lucas Pope's dystopian document thriller, developed and self-published via 3909 LLC. As a border-control inspector for the fictional communist state of Arstotzka in 1982, the player examines each entrant's passports, permits and paperwork against a rulebook that grows each day — approving or denying entry, interrogating discrepancies, and facing moral choices that set state loyalty against the lives of entrants and the player's own family. Built in Haxe/OpenFL and released August 8, 2013, later ported to iPad, PlayStation Vita and Nintendo Switch. Single-player only — no ranked or role-based modes.
