frag

Definition

A frag is a single kill in a multiplayer game. The term originated in Doom (1993) where "frags" was the score system, derived from the Vietnam War term for fragmentation grenades. "Top fragger" means most kills in a match; "trade frag" means a kill secured immediately after a teammate dies. Frag is roughly synonymous with kill in shooter contexts.

Example

"Top frag with 28 kills." The player led the match in kills.
