stream snipe

Social Gaming

Definition

Stream sniping is queueing into a streamer's match deliberately, usually to spoil their game, gain visibility, or grief. Streamers use stream delays (30-60 seconds) and sometimes hidden lobbies to deter snipers. In pro play, stream sniping is grounds for disqualification because tournament streams typically run with smaller delays.

Example

"He's stream sniping — same name, instant queue dodge." The opposing player is exploiting the live broadcast to find the streamer's match.
