DPM

Definition

DPM stands for Damage Per Minute. It is the canonical sustained-damage metric for hero shooters and looter-shooters where match length varies (Overwatch payload, Destiny PVE encounters). DPM is more comparable across formats than total damage. Overwatch top-500 DPS players sustain DPMs in the high four-figures.

Example

"He's pumping 12k DPM as Soldier — top of leaderboard." The damage rate per minute is exceptional.
