GLHF

Social Gaming

Definition

GLHF stands for "good luck, have fun" and is typed in pre-game chat as a sportsmanship signal. Like GG, it dates to the StarCraft era. Saying GLHF and GG bracketed your match in a respectful way that survived into modern competitive play. Modern systems often have a one-button GLHF spam in pre-game chat.

Example

"GLHF everyone" — typed in all chat right before the match starts to wish opponents a good game.

Origin

First attested: Late 1990s StarCraft / Brood War scene
