pubs

Definition

Pubs is short for public matches or public lobbies — informal, non-ranked, often quick-play modes open to anyone. The term is most common in shooters (Apex pubs, CS pubs, Halo pubs) and is roughly synonymous with casual. Pubs are where new mechanics, off-meta picks, and warm-up sessions happen.

Example

"Let me hop into pubs to warm up before ranked." The player wants a low-stakes session before queueing competitively.
