raid

Social Gaming

Definition

A raid is a high-difficulty, multi-player PVE encounter — most associated with MMOs (WoW, FFXIV) and looter-shooters (Destiny 2). Raids require coordinated team play, mechanical execution, and usually 6-25 players. Raid-finder, raid-progression, and raid-static are all subculture terms. The Destiny raid culture ("flawless" runs, day-one races) is especially deep.

Example

"LFM 1 for raid — need a warlock with well." A raid lead is recruiting a final member with a specific subclass.
