Definition

1v9 is gamer slang for "one versus nine" — when one player feels they are winning despite their entire team underperforming and the enemy team playing well. The phrase is hyperbolic (a 1v5 game is the actual ratio) but captures the experience of carrying alone. Smurfs, hard-carry mains, and tilted players all describe games as 1v9.

Example

"That was a literal 1v9 — 25/2 KDA and we still lost." The player carried hard but the team's losses still resulted in a defeat.
