AFK

Definition

AFK stands for Away From Keyboard. It describes a player who is not actively playing — either taking a break, having stepped away, or not responding for any reason. AFK players in active matches are a leading cause of unwinnable games and most competitive titles penalize repeat AFKs with queue restrictions or rank loss.

Example

"Our jungler's been AFK at base for two minutes — gg." A teammate has stopped playing, effectively making the match a 4v5.
