Definition

Throwing is intentionally playing badly to lose a match — usually in retaliation against teammates, in protest of a bad situation, or as deliberate griefing. Throwing is the most punishable offense in ranked play, often resulting in immediate suspensions or rank loss. Throwing differs from tilt: tilt is unintentional poor performance, throwing is deliberate.

Example

"Top laner is throwing — feeding the enemy on purpose." The player is intentionally giving up kills to lose the match.
