leaver buster

Matchmaking

Definition

Leaver Buster is the colloquial name (originally a League of Legends system) for any matchmaking penalty that targets players who repeatedly leave or AFK during matches. Penalties typically include longer queue times, ranked LP loss, low-priority queue, or temporary suspensions. Modern systems use behavioral profiles, not just per-game incidents, to avoid punishing rare disconnects.

Example

"Three dodges in a row — Leaver Buster gave me a 30-minute queue penalty." The system detected repeat dodges and applied a delay.
