dodge

Matchmaking

Definition

To dodge is to leave a match during the lobby or champion-select phase, before the game begins. Players dodge to avoid bad team comps, troll teammates, or unfavorable matchups. Most ranked systems penalize dodges with LP loss and queue timers because mass dodging hurts queue health and player time.

Example

"I had to dodge — our top laner instalocked Yasuo and started flaming." The player exited champion select to avoid an unwinnable lobby.
