CS:GO

Definition

CS:GO is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the 2012-2023 incarnation of the Counter-Strike series, replaced by Counter-Strike 2 in 2023. CS:GO defined modern tactical FPS for over a decade, popularized the 5v5 round-economy structure, and produced the CS:GO Major tournament circuit. The competitive scene migrated to CS2 with most formats and lineups intact.
