Definition

A gank is when a player (typically a jungler in MOBAs) leaves their lane or area to ambush an opponent in another lane, securing kills or pressure. Effective ganking requires arrived-without-vision, hard-CC, and lane-state reading. The jungler-laner ganking relationship is one of the core macro mechanics of LoL, Dota 2, and Smite.

Example

"Mid is pushed up, jg ping for gank." The lane is in a good state for a jungler to come kill the enemy mid-laner.
