lobby dodge

Matchmaking

Definition

A lobby dodge is leaving a match during the pre-game lobby phase before any picks are locked. Lobby dodges are typically penalized less harshly than mid-match leaves but more harshly than nothing. Repeated lobby dodging triggers Leaver Buster timers. Lobby-dodging exists because some lobbies are immediately bad: a troll lock, a wrong-rank fill, or a region mismatch.

Example

"Three lobby dodges in a row — 30-minute timer." Multiple pre-game exits triggered the matchmaking penalty.
