LP

Definition

LP stands for League Points and is the per-division currency used in League of Legends, Wild Rift, and Teamfight Tactics ranked. Players gain LP on wins and lose it on losses, with magnitudes driven by MMR vs. rank delta. Reaching 100 LP triggers a promotion to the next division. "LP gains/losses" is a frequent metric of system fairness.

Example

"I got +28 LP for that win and only -14 for the next loss" — the player's MMR is well above their visible rank, so wins reward more than losses cost.
