team fight

Definition

A team fight is a multi-player engagement where most or all of both teams clash in the same area. Team fights typically decide MOBA matches — winning a 5v5 lets you take an objective like Baron or a tier-3 tower. In hero shooters team fights happen around the payload or capture point. Team-fight execution requires positioning, ult sequencing, and target focus.

Example

"We won the team fight 5-for-2 — taking Baron." A favorable engagement opened a major objective for the team.
