smurf detection
MatchmakingDefinition
Smurf detection is the set of automated checks used by matchmaking systems to identify accounts that are performing far above their visible rank. Common signals include unusually high win rate, KDA outliers, account age, hardware ID matching, payment methods linked to higher-rated accounts, and behavioral patterns. Detected smurfs are often fast-tracked to their true MMR or banned outright.
Example
"Riot's smurf detection bumped my new account to Diamond MMR after eight games." The system rapidly moved the alt to its real skill level.
